Moroccan Market Traders

While I have been to all of the bigger towns in Morocco, nowhere grabbed my imagination quite like Tangier. Maybe it was the beatnick memories clinging to the walls from the time when it was known as the interzone, a haven for easy living, drugs and decadence. Maybe it was the relaxed, if somewhat faded chic which still pervades the place or maybe it was just the wild mixture of cultures and values which make Tangier a fascinating place. Whatever it was this post is about one isolated part of the town; just inside the entrance to the medina area is a market, this is no tourist market, this is where the tangerines go to buy their daily needs of meat and fish. The market enthralled me and I spent an afternoon there capturing some of the traders hard at their daily work. Here are a selection of the images created.
